As we study through the book of Acts is has been clear that community is an essential aspect of the church.  Community has also been made into a trendy buzz-word in Christian circles.  When we think of community we typically will focus on acceptance, sharing, caring, belonging, compassion and thoughtfulness.  These are all wonderful things to celebrate and they should be an essential aspect to any robust community.  However, if that community is only those things it becomes highly effeminate meaning no dudes are going to join in over time.

There has been a shift recently in the church that has somewhere along the lines repelled men from church.  The community has become  highly effeminate and men are failing to reflect God in the Imago Dei as godly servant leaders.  When we look at Paul's life in the book of Acts it's clear that the community not only has the aspects of compassion and thoughtfulness but also you see accountability, mission, order, camaraderie, and teamwork.  Paul really provides leadership, accountabiliy, protection, and discipline.  We need celebrate the masculine qualities of community once again.
