Acts 3 Green Light

Peter and John had the green light to minister because they were men or preparation, humility, sensitivity, and purity. They were connected to Jesus and their only desire was to be used by the Lord. We too are created for connection with God but often times we need times of refreshing which comes from repentance as we try to connect with empty things instead of Jesus. The Holy Spirit relates to us in 3 ways. With us, in us, and upon us. This teaching explores these relationships we can have with the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2 Living In Reality

The early church was made up of people who had repented and our study shows us what they spent their time doing. They devoted themselves it tells us to the apostles doctrine and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and prayers. As a result fear and awe came upon them all. They were living for the Kingdom of God. Many believers are so frustrated because they are trying to apply the promises of God to a secular humanistic worldview. In other words...Jesus make my life look like Joel Olsteen's smile. Jesus does not promise us a smooth path of life but He does promise us the power to make it through while glorifying Him. The early church did not have a smooth path at all.

Acts 1 Just Like Jesus

The book of Acts is a continuation of Luke's gospel. In the book of Luke it is clear to us that the ministry of Jesus was entirely lived out by the empowering of the Holy Spirit. Then as we cruise into acts we will see the theme that this is our Lord's intention for us as well, that we will be filled and empowered by the Spirit just like Him.

Recognizing Jesus In The Ordinary

The theme of this passage is found in verse 1 or ch.21. "Jesus revealed Himself again to his disciples, and He revealed Himself in this way." In the previous chapter the guys were glad to see the Lord. They didn't go fishing to run away from Jesus. Jesus is revealing Himself in the ordinary things of life like going fishing. Oftentimes we only look for the Lord in the extraordinary and we don't recognize Him in a simple meal with simple people.

Experience Him Today

Jesus has risen from the dead and the Holy Spirit is actively making Jesus known to us in a personal relational way. We can only experience Jesus as we seek Him and make Him our priority and hunger. A more powerful word is to lust for Him. What are you lusting for today? Mary Magdalene was first to the tomb because Jesus was her priority. In turn Jesus made Mary His priority as she would be the first human being to see the risen Christ.

Jesus Dies For What?

Why did Jesus die? Did He have to die in order for us to be saved? How did He die? Could Jesus have just fallen out of heaven and landed on a cross and die and still accomplish the atonement? What does propitiation, penal substitutionary atonement, and expiation mean? Jesus loves me but could I say He has authority over my life? All these questions are answered in this teaching.

John 1:19-34. "Spirit Driven"

What leads your life? Maybe you're the thin-slicer type who makes decisions in the blink of an eye. Or maybe your the bean counter constantly sizing up the situation. As Christians we are called to be led by the Spirit of God. This in turn will cause you to be the unique individual God has created you to be, and such was the case of John the baptizer.
